Account Manager – SMB

About the role

Small businesses fuel Australia’s economy and you’ll partner with them to thrive using Square’s suite of tools. This role blends high‑energy outreach, consultative conversations, and business coaching to help sellers get the most from Square.

Key responsibilities

• Own, retain, and grow a portfolio of SMB merchants by driving adoption of Square tools.
• Act as the voice of merchants within Square, surfacing insights that shape product development.
• Build trusted relationships with top merchants while maintaining consultative connections across the wider portfolio.
• Drive expansion through product adoption, upselling, and value‑based recommendations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Support teams to deliver tailored solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in account management, sales, or consultative roles.
• Customer‑first mindset with a genuine passion for helping SMBs succeed.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills to balance outreach and follow‑up.
• Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex ideas.
• Commercial acumen and curiosity about small‑business drivers.
