Site Supervisor - Civil Construction

About the role

The Site Supervisor works closely with the Site Superintendent / Construction Manager to guide site personnel in delivering contracted civil construction works safely, on time, on budget and within scope and quality standards. The role covers daily site operations, safety and resources (labour, materials, equipment and subcontracts) while following SRG and Client policies, and acts as a mentor and leader to site staff.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and allocate resources including labour, material and equipment, and interpret construction drawings and documentation
• Instruct and manage Leading Hands and the site team, and give progress reports to the Site Superintendent / Construction Manager
• Monitor site safety, identify and mitigate risks, and report them in line with Client and SRG policies
• Maintain relationships with client representatives and help recruit site employees, including interviews, phone screens and inductions
• Mentor and train new employees, monitor their progress and handle internal and external complaints
• Complete daily worksheets on time, take part in toolbox meetings and help prepare project documentation and reporting
• Prepare work orders, coordinate delivery of materials and equipment, and manage project consumables with suppliers
• Ensure plant and equipment is inspected and maintained, review performance and promote SRG's other capabilities to the client

Required profile

• Ideally 5 years' experience in road construction and bulk earthworks operations
