Electrician - Generator Services

About the role

A leading provider of power solutions, which supplies, installs and maintains power generation systems, is looking for a qualified and experienced electrician to join its team and support its growing operations in the generator services sector. The position is advertised through Qest Human Resources as a full-time role.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair diesel and gas-powered generators.
• Perform electrical wiring, testing and fault-finding on generator systems.
• Carry out regular servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out site visits as required.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety and electrical regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an electrician, preferably with generators or similar equipment.
• Certification in Electrical Installation or a related field.
• Wiring Regulations certification preferred.
• Full Australian driving licence.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose faults.
• Desirable: experience with control panels and automatic transfer switches (ATS).
• Desirable: generator manufacturer training or certifications, and basic mechanical knowledge of engines and power systems.
