Senior Project Engineer, Piling

About the role

ACCIONA's Geotech business, a specialist in foundation piling, basement construction, ground improvement, ground anchors and water infrastructure, is looking for a Senior Project Engineer in Sydney. The role suits someone with extensive piling experience and strong leadership, coordinating engineering works for a designated project through technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control activities based on ACCIONA standards. You will help the Construction Manager deliver the project safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the project to cost and time with the resources needed, leading to a high level of client satisfaction
• Identify and assess project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Resolve design challenges and identify value engineering opportunities
• Control costs and forecasts to support project managers' strategic planning
• Lead, develop and manage large on-ground project teams
• Coordinate activities with supervisors and maintain quality, environmental and safety systems
• Provide positive leadership to subcontractors and monitor their performance
• Manage construction budgets to support accurate profit/loss forecasting and monitor financial performance

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
• 5 years' experience in a project or delivery-based role
• Extensive piling experience
• Experience leading high-performing teams
• Demonstrated strong forecasting and budgeting experience
