About the role
The Senior Communications Officer will join a collaborative, nationally distributed team delivering high‑quality communications for a federal tribunal. The position can be based in any major Australian city and offers flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements.
Key responsibilities
- Produce user‑focused, high‑impact communications for external audiences, primarily through digital channels.
- Manage content creation, media liaison, and stakeholder engagement across multiple projects.
- Support the Assistant Director – Public Affairs in delivering timely, accurate information to a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.
Required profile
- Australian citizenship with ability to obtain an AFP check and health assessment.
- Proven experience in a complex, multi‑stakeholder setting, preferably within a government or tribunal context.
- Strong research, writing, editing and proof‑reading capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects that align with organisational priorities.

What we offer
- APS6 salary range $99,734 – $111,701 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation.
- Full‑time, fixed‑term contract (approximately 12 months) with potential for extension.
