Project Manager – Building Management Systems

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Building Management System (BMS) and Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) projects for its Scoresby team in Australia. You will own complex automation and controls projects from concept through commissioning and handover across commercial, healthcare, industrial, education and mission‑critical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle – design, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary teams to meet milestones, financial targets and customer outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning activities, system optimisation and technical handovers.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, risk assessments and QA deliverables.

Required profile

• Electrical, HVAC, Controls, Automation or Engineering qualifications.
• Proven experience delivering BMS/BAS/IBMS projects in commercial, healthcare, industrial, education or critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong commercial acumen – managing budgets, profitability and project risks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.

Required skills

• Building Automation Systems, controls architecture and system integration.
• HVAC plant knowledge – chillers, boilers, AHUs and energy optimisation.
• Networking and IT infrastructure – BACnet, Modbus and other building communication protocols.
• Experience leading FAT, SAT, commissioning and building tuning activities.
