Maintenance Technician – Reliability Maintenance Engineering

About the role

Amazon is looking for Maintenance Technicians to join its Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at sites in Mulgrave and Ravenhall, Victoria. You will keep material handling, automated packaging and distribution equipment running safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance, rapid breakdown response, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on all site equipment.
• Prioritise health and safety in every task.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, communicate with affected teams and restore operation.
• Provide feedback on failures to support long‑term improvements.
• Maintain high equipment availability for internal customers.
• Assist and learn from senior maintenance technicians.
• Carry out general building maintenance as required.

Required profile

• Formal trade qualification (Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical licence, or Certificate III in Engineering, or Mechanical Trade such as Fitter/Turner) or equivalent Australian‑recognised qualification.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Proven fault‑finding skills on material handling or automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, motor controllers and inverters.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards and regulations.
