Junior In‑House Lawyer – Property Development (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Lawyer to join our fast‑moving property development business on a 12‑month contract. You will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and key stakeholders, gaining hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate development agreements, joint‑venture documents, construction contracts, finance documents, lease and sales agreements.
• Provide legal support for property acquisitions, due diligence, project financing and construction matters.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal property laws and regulations.
• Liaise with external counsel, contractors and internal teams to resolve legal issues.
• Conduct legal research and advise on property, construction, corporate and finance matters.
• Maintain legal transaction registers and documentation processes.
• Assist in dispute resolution, including litigation support and negotiations.
• Support the development, review and maintenance of company policies, procedures and template documents.
• Help improve in‑house legal processes and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• LLB or JD with admission to practice in Victoria.
• 1–3 years post‑admission experience, preferably with exposure to property, construction or commercial law.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
