Graduate Civil Engineer – Highways

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join its Highways team in Canberra. This position offers the chance to work on a variety of infrastructure projects, from large‑scale highways to more intricate local works, and to develop a holistic understanding of the engineering lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to projects across all phases – concept design, detailed design, construction, and operation.
• Support design activities, project management tasks, stakeholder engagement, and technical/site assurance.
• Assist in developing innovative and sustainable solutions to address project challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver and maintain major roadway infrastructure.

Required profile

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable mindset with a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
• Completed a Bachelor’s (or postgraduate) degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Graduated before the start date of the program.
