Facility Supervisor - Horticultural Packing Facility

An Australian employer is hiring a Horticultural Packing Facility Supervisor to oversee packing facility operations, maintain quality standards and lead teams in delivering fresh produce to local and international markets. The role coordinates daily packing operations, supervises production staff and ensures produce is packed efficiently while meeting quality and food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily packing shed operations to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
• Lead, train and support packing facility staff in safe and efficient work practices.
• Monitor product quality, grading, sorting and packaging to meet customer and export standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and quality assurance requirements.
• Coordinate workforce allocation, shift planning and workflow optimisation during peak harvest periods.
• Monitor packing equipment, conveyors and grading machines, reporting maintenance needs.
• Maintain production records, inventory data and operational reports.
• Work with farm management, logistics teams and quality personnel to ensure timely dispatch of produce.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in horticulture, agriculture, food processing, packing facilities or related production environments.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a packing shed, warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of quality control, food safety standards and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Experience with packing line equipment, grading systems, inventory management and production reporting.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and spoken.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including peak harvest periods.
• Valid passport and readiness to provide supporting documents such as employment certificates, police clearance and educational records.
