Engineering Technician

About the role

The Engineering Technician will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines; carry necessary tools and radios.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies.
• Document daily activities and issues for shift handovers.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, and guestroom items.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs and sprinkler maintenance.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence.

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical, mechanical and plumbing basics.
• Pneumatic/electronic systems and controls.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
