About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic waitstaff and runners to join the team at Maison Bâtard, a modern French‑inspired dining venue in Melbourne’s heritage precinct. In this high‑energy, premium restaurant you will help deliver a best‑in‑class guest experience, supporting both front‑of‑house service and kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide attentive, knowledgeable service to guests, including menu and wine recommendations.
- Assist runners in delivering dishes promptly and accurately across the dining floor.
- Maintain immaculate presentation standards and uphold the venue’s high service quality.
- Handle opening and closing duties, including setting up and resetting tables.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Required profile
- Previous experience as waitstaff or runner in a premium or high‑end restaurant.
- Strong communication skills and polished personal presentation.
- Ability to carry up to three plates (highly regarded).
- Flexibility to work rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Valid RSA certificate.
Required skills
- Knowledge of food and wine service standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and time‑management.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
