Senior Asset Management Consultant – Lifecycle Management

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Asset Management Consultant to lead the development of strategic and operational asset management solutions for critical water and sewer infrastructure on the Central Coast. The role involves close collaboration with client stakeholders and embedding within the client environment three days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review Asset Management Plans, Strategic Asset Management Plans (SAMPs), lifecycle strategies, maintenance frameworks and investment plans.
• Transform asset condition, utilisation, defect and performance data into practical lifecycle strategies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, providing recommendations that improve asset performance and service outcomes.
• Lead project delivery to ensure high‑quality outcomes, client satisfaction and commercial success.
• Support business development activities and mentor junior consultants.

Required profile

• 8‑15 years of experience in asset management, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Proven ability to develop asset lifecycle, maintenance and investment strategies for infrastructure assets.
• Strong client‑facing experience with a track record of building trusted long‑term relationships.
• Proactive, autonomous consulting style with excellent communication and commercial skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 55000 or contemporary asset management frameworks.
• Experience with water, wastewater or utility infrastructure is a plus.
