Prosthetist – Upper Limb Specialist

About the role

ForMotion Clinic Australia is seeking an experienced Prosthetist with a focus on upper limb prosthetics. The role combines strong prosthetic knowledge, clinical independence, and a passion for delivering exceptional outcomes for people living with limb difference.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver assessment, prescription, fitting and review services across upper and lower limb prosthetic caseloads.
• Manage complex congenital, traumatic and acquired limb difference presentations.
• Provide upper limb prosthetic assessment and rehabilitation services, including body‑powered, myoelectric and emerging prosthetic technologies.
• Collaborate with surgeons, therapists, rehabilitation physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Mentor and support graduate and early‑career clinicians through knowledge sharing and clinical guidance.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree qualification in Prosthetics and Orthotics from an Australian university or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Eligible for, or holding current Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA) membership.
• Demonstrated prosthetic clinical experience across a broad range of patient presentations.
• Strong understanding of upper limb assessment, component selection and rehabilitation principles.
• Well‑developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
