Team Leader – Housing Services

About the role

This permanent position with Homes NSW offers a pivotal leadership opportunity to guide a team of housing professionals delivering frontline services to vulnerable community members across New South Wales. You will balance operational, financial and community outcomes while ensuring safe, secure and sustainable housing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately 15 staff to deliver consistent, high‑quality housing services.
• Allocate workloads, monitor performance and ensure service delivery targets are met.
• Manage team budgets, resources and compliance with legislation and policy frameworks.
• Support tenancy management, property utilisation and maintenance decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with NSW Police, health services and community organisations.
• Drive collaboration across teams to improve service access, effectiveness and client outcomes.
• Lead change initiatives and support the team through evolving service environments.
• Contribute to district‑level planning, service improvements and community engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams in human services, housing or community sectors.
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, motivate and manage performance.
• Sound judgment and decision‑making skills, especially in complex or sensitive situations.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, budgets and resources effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across government and community networks.
• Commitment to delivering person‑centred, trauma‑informed services.
• Resilience and professionalism when navigating challenging behaviours and situations.
