Tax Specialist – In‑house role

About the role

You will bring specialist technical strength to a Finance team that already has a functioning tax and compliance cadence. This new in‑house role is created to reduce reliance on external advice and will grow in scope as the Group expands.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review income tax, BAS, IAS and statutory lodgements.
• Support advice on property acquisitions, disposals, restructures and new ventures.
• Assess GST on property transactions, including margin scheme and mixed‑use scenarios.
• Help manage payroll tax, land tax and stamp duty exposure across jurisdictions.
• Prepare current and deferred tax provisions for month‑end and year‑end.
• Contribute to the Group's tax governance framework and risk reporting.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislative and ATO developments relevant to the Group.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Commerce or Law.
• 5+ years of tax experience, including specialist work in a Big 4, mid‑tier or corporate tax function.
• Strong knowledge of Australian income tax, GST, consolidations and property tax.
• Ability to form well‑reasoned positions under guidance and time pressure.
