Senior Android Engineer (Contract) – Sydney

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join a high‑performing team delivering strategic Android and mobile device initiatives across enterprise environments. The role focuses on building mobile point‑of‑sale (mPOS) proof‑of‑concepts, expanding productivity apps to Android, and creating logistics and pallet‑tracking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hands‑on Android development using Kotlin.
• Design and present Android solution architecture.
• Collaborate with architecture, delivery teams, and third‑party vendors.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and enforce engineering best practices.
• Support device testing, validation, and production readiness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and cross‑region collaboration (Australia & United States).

Required profile

• Strong Android development experience with Kotlin.
• Proven REST API integration experience.
• Exposure to .NET environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins preferred).
• Understanding of mobile architecture and secure coding practices.
• Agile delivery experience using JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience working with vendors and outsourced teams.
