Quality Engineer – Energy Storage & Renewable Projects

About the role

The Quality Engineer will support a leading organisation in the energy storage and renewable sector, ensuring product and process quality across design, installation, commissioning, manufacturing and operational phases. The role blends technical expertise with problem‑solving and cross‑functional collaboration in factory, supplier and shop‑floor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide incoming and in‑process support for global product lines, developing programmes and reporting systems with Program Management.
• Lead issue‑resolution efforts, driving corrective and preventive actions through cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain quality records, including inspection reports, test data and non‑conformance logs, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Assist in testing and validation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), covering functional tests, safety checks, wiring verification and system‑level commissioning.
• Manage NCR triage, tracking and closure; drive 8D corrective actions to completion and perform trend analysis.
• Track JIRA tickets, handle change requests, deviations and coordinate replacement‑part tickets.
• Collaborate with suppliers, factory teams and engineering to resolve issues, conduct supplier audits and support technical bulletin releases.
• Prepare NCR, 8D and regular reports, delivering data‑driven quality insights.
• Support new product readiness, capture lessons learned and work with warranty teams on cost estimation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1–3+ years of experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing quality or operations.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical systems, inverters and preferably battery/BESS technologies.
• Proven ability to handle non‑conformities, CAPA, NCR and 8D processes.
• Experience working directly with suppliers and factory quality teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive “doer” mindset.
