Maintenance Program & Planning Manager

About the role

Qantas is seeking a senior leader to drive the maintenance strategy for non‑flying assets across the Group. You will be responsible for the safety, compliance and operational excellence of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at more than 50 locations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a specialist maintenance program and planning team, fostering a safety‑first, collaborative culture.
• Own end‑to‑end maintenance programs for non‑flying assets throughout their lifecycle, balancing safety, compliance, cost and operational risk.
• Manage asset information systems, processes and reporting to enable data‑driven maintenance governance and optimisation.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on maintenance efficiency, effectiveness and supporting systems.
• Partner with internal customers and suppliers to deliver agreed service levels, minimise operational risk and support on‑time performance.
• Manage risks through effective CRMS and ERMS frameworks and timely escalation to senior leaders.

Required profile

• 10+ years’ experience in asset management, maintenance, engineering or planning within a complex, regulated environment.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to engage technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of WHS, safety and regulatory frameworks, ideally within aviation or heavy‑asset industries.
