Public & Administrative Law Litigation Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking a Public & Administrative Law Litigation Lawyer to join our national team. The successful candidate will independently advocate in the Administrative Review Tribunal and Federal Circuit Court, handling a diverse portfolio of merits and judicial review matters for Commonwealth government agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of merits and judicial review matters for agencies such as the Department of Home Affairs.
• Represent clients before the Federal Circuit Court, Federal Court, High Court and Administrative Review Tribunal.
• Draft prospects advice, legal submissions and develop litigation strategies.
• Appear in court personally or instruct counsel as required.
• Collaborate closely with two partners and other team members.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in public and administrative law.
• Demonstrated advocacy skills in the Administrative Review Tribunal and Federal Circuit Court.
• Experience representing Commonwealth government agencies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to work from Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra with two days remote per week.
