Project Cost Controller

About the role

Join a high‑impact team as a Project Cost Controller, partnering with the Commercial Manager to drive financial success across machine builds, capital projects, and service operations. You will own the full financial lifecycle of projects, from budgeting and forecasting to cost monitoring, recovery and profitability analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial and financial management of machine builds, CAPEX programs and related projects, ensuring cost control, cost recovery and margin optimisation.
• Monitor project and CAPEX financial performance, providing variance analysis, insights and actionable recommendations.
• Track costs accurately, implement corrective actions and protect project profitability.
• Manage service profitability to align with commercial targets and lifecycle expectations.
• Ensure financial governance by aligning spend with approved budgets, delegation of authority and compliance requirements.
• Oversee invoicing processes to match project milestones and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with operations, finance and sales teams to improve cost visibility, commercial discipline and operational efficiency.
• Champion continuous improvement in cost control, reporting and commercial governance.
• Support the Commercial Manager with budgeting, forecasting and profitability analysis for the project and CAPEX portfolio.

Required profile

• Degree in project management, commerce, finance or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in project‑based roles with proven involvement in financial management, cost control and commercial delivery.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is highly regarded.
• Experience in construction, mining or heavy‑equipment industries is advantageous.
