Patient Transport Officer – Full Time

About the role

The Patient Transport Officer provides safe, compassionate, and timely transport for patients and carers within Fiona Stanley Hospital. Working as part of Serco's External Transport Services team, you will support the clinical workforce and enhance the overall hospital experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑time transport services for eligible patients and carers, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Check and maintain vehicle and equipment readiness before each shift.
• Assist patients with safe boarding and disembarking, following infection control and safety protocols.
• Record and communicate detailed handover information to relevant staff.
• Drive hospital transport vehicles safely while maintaining patient comfort.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Non‑Emergency Patient Transport, Certificate IV in Health Care, Certificate IV in Ambulance or equivalent (desirable).
• Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Willingness to obtain PTD – Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• WWC Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
• Up‑to‑date COVID‑19 and relevant vaccinations (MMR, Pertussis, Varicella).
• Experience in a similar role or strong transferable customer‑service skills.

Required skills

• Safe vehicle operation and patient handling.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
