About the role

The Head of Credit Strategy and Portfolio Oversight will lead the Business & Private Bank risk team in providing independent second‑line oversight of credit risk strategy, governance and portfolio performance. This senior leadership position shapes credit risk outcomes, influences strategic decisions and ensures robust governance across a complex portfolio environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Credit Strategy and Portfolio Oversight function, defining governance frameworks and oversight practices.
• Drive enterprise stakeholder engagement and influence credit risk policy, strategy and regulatory outcomes.
• Oversee portfolio risk insights, reporting and governance to inform executive decision‑making.
• Build organisational capability and foster a proactive risk culture across teams.

Required profile

• Exceptional leadership, influencing and executive stakeholder management capabilities.
• Deep expertise in credit risk, governance, regulatory frameworks and portfolio management.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to navigate complex enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to lead large teams through change and align with ANZ's 2030 Strategy.
