Graduate Program – Economic Regulation Authority

About the role

The Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) is offering an 18‑month Graduate Program designed for recent graduates to apply their university knowledge to real‑world regulatory work across electricity, gas, water and rail services in Western Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Complete two six‑month rotations within the Energy Markets and Regulation divisions.
• Work on live projects alongside experienced economists, analysts and regulatory experts.
• Develop analysis, policy, stakeholder‑engagement and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Participate in the WA Public Sector Commission Launch Program for broader public‑sector exposure.
• Build a professional network within the energy sector and WA public service.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (Bachelor or higher) in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Legal Studies, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Philosophy or a related field.
• Curious, organised and motivated to learn.
• Enjoys teamwork, sharing ideas and solving problems.
