Digital Communications Specialist

About the role

The Digital Communications Specialist will enhance Paralympics Australia’s storytelling and expand the reach of the Australian Paralympic Movement. Through engaging, accessible digital content, the role supports the promotion of para‑sport, inspires future athletes and raises the profile of Australian para‑athletes and teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver compelling digital stories that showcase Paralympics Australia’s impact, athletes and initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, member organisations, government and partners to identify coordinated storytelling opportunities.
• Coordinate media, PR and content activities aligned with the organisation’s strategic plan and major events such as the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games and Brisbane 2032.
• Create written, digital and audio‑visual content that reflects the brand, values and history of Paralympics Australia.
• Support media planning, profile development and campaign execution for para‑sports and Australian Paralympic Teams.

Required profile

• Adaptable, strategic thinker with strong storytelling ability.
• Excellent writing, planning and relationship‑management skills.
• High attention to detail and passion for connecting audiences with para‑sport.
• Experience working with athletes, media and diverse stakeholders in fast‑paced environments.
• Collaborative, well‑organised and comfortable representing para‑sport to national and global audiences.

Required skills

What we offer

• Full‑time permanent position with a salary range of $90,000–$100,000 AUD per year.
• Office base in Sydney with occasional travel to Melbourne, Brisbane, or other locations.
