Youth Worker - Residential Program

About the role

selectability, a not-for-profit charity focused on mental wellbeing and suicide prevention in regional Queensland, is looking for a Youth Worker to join its growing team. Its youth residential program provides accommodation and intensive support to children and young people with a variety of needs, some with high to complex needs. The role works directly with young people and requires child-safe, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice.

Required profile

• Clear and effective communication skills
• Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster
• Minimum Cert IV qualification recognised under child safety minimum qualification standards, or willingness to study actively
• Current P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence
• Child Safety and Personal History Screening check, and a positive Working with Children (blue card)
• Nationally recognised first aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)

Required skills

• Computer literacy and accurate record management
• Following policies and procedures
• Hope and Healing certification for residential care (obtained on commencement)
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and NDIS Worker Orientation Module (ability to obtain)
