Carer

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Carer to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, helping them live with dignity and purpose. The shift pattern is Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 7:30pm. The role is based at the Porter Lodge facility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including showering, dressing, grooming and feeding.
• Support residents with mobility and provide physical assistance.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Monitor and document residents' progress, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver person-centred care in a positive, inclusive environment.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent qualification, recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Full-time availability.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance.
• Kind-hearted, patient and respectful, aligned with Anglicare's values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence.

Preferred

• Passion for working with older people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork and independent work.
• Understanding of maintaining residents' dignity and independence.
• Flexible availability including mornings, afternoons or nights.
• Alignment with Anglicare's Christian ethos and values.
