Workshop Supervisor - Switchboard Manufacturing

About the role

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead a switchboard manufacturing team in a fast-paced, high-quality production environment. The role is permanent and full-time, based at the workshop close to Wollongong CBD with no travel to client sites required. It offers stable weekday hours, regular overtime and a company vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule workshop activities to meet project deadlines and ensure materials, tools and resources are ready before production.
• Liaise with engineering and project teams, supervise daily activities and allocate tasks to maximise productivity.
• Provide mentoring, support and on-the-job training, monitor team performance and promote a safety-first culture.
• Ensure compliance with WHS policies, conduct toolbox talks, investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee switchboard assembly, wiring and testing, inspect work against specifications and track project progress.
• Support cost control, resource planning and procurement; approve timesheets and maintain labour records.

Required profile

• Trade-qualified electrician with a current electrical licence.
• 2 to 5 years' experience in a supervisory or leading hand role.
• Experience in switchboard manufacturing or panel wiring.
• Right to work in Australia.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Microsoft Word and Excel.
• WHS for Supervisors or similar highly regarded qualification.
