Works Officer – Triabunna

About the role

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council is looking for a motivated and reliable Works Officer for its Works and Infrastructure team in Triabunna. This is a full-time, ongoing position of 76 hours over a nine-day fortnight, primarily based in Triabunna but sometimes working across other locations in the municipality. You will help maintain and improve the council's roads, parks, public spaces and community facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate vehicles, plant and equipment
• Maintain roads, drainage, parks and public facilities
• Carry out vegetation management and general maintenance
• Assist with construction and infrastructure improvements
• Follow safe work practices and contribute to a positive team environment

Required profile

• Current Australian driver's licence
• White Card and First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain them
• Experience in construction, maintenance or a similar outdoor environment
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Required skills

• Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence or greater (highly desirable)
• VOC or RII competencies for plant and machinery (highly desirable)
• Relevant trade qualifications or additional certifications (highly desirable)

What we offer

• Pay of $35.02 to $39.07 per hour depending on skills and experience
• Nine-day fortnight with a regular rostered day off
• 18.5% superannuation, with the option of receiving 6.5% as ordinary time earnings
