Works Coordinator - Gas Utility Dispatch

About the role

Service Stream's Utilities division is looking for a Works Coordinator in Clayton, Victoria, to ensure the safe, efficient and timely dispatch of field personnel to service calls, maintenance and emergency response for gas utility operations. The role reports to the Performance Lead and is an 18-month full-time fixed-term contract with potential to extend.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor work queues and prioritise service and trouble orders, including gas leaks, emergency shutoffs, customer requests, meter installations, turn-ons and repairs.
• Dispatch field technicians by availability, proximity and urgency, keeping them informed of location and job status.
• Record dispatch activities and communicate with field crews on attendance times, safety protocols and customer requirements.
• Analyse workforce trends and operational data to forecast demand and recommend process improvements.
• Manage inbound calls from clients and service providers, giving work order ETAs and outcomes.
• Perform SAP administrative tasks such as order creation, completion and system updates, and support administration and scheduling.
• Monitor KPIs on dispatch efficiency, workforce utilisation and service delivery, and assist the Performance Lead with workforce insights.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards and industry codes, and work a fortnightly rotating roster of early, mid and late shifts.

Required profile

• Experience in scheduling and/or dispatching, and in the gas distribution industry.
• Knowledge of gas distribution processes, including service and trouble order management.
• Strong analytical, organisational and time-management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in SAP systems preferred.
