Workplace Rehabilitation Consultant - Psychologist / Rehabilitation Counsellor

About the role

KINNECT is seeking a rehabilitation counsellor or a fully qualified (and preferably provisional) psychologist in Toowoomba to join its multidisciplinary workplace rehabilitation team. The role supports people to engage in meaningful occupations through a client-centred approach that promotes health and wellbeing. While a full-time position is sought, part-time options are open to discuss for an excellent candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Support workers with psychological injuries to return to work by working with key stakeholders to develop graded return-to-work plans.
• Deliver adjustment-to-injury counselling so workers understand their injury and learn coping strategies.
• Work with injured workers to set new employment goals through vocational counselling and complete vocational assessments.
• Support job-seeking and job placement services to help workers find new employment matching their capacity, experience and the local labour market.

Required profile

• Psychologists: current AHPRA registration.
• Rehabilitation counsellors: eligibility for or current full membership with ASORC.
• Genuine passion for helping others; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Full and valid driver's licence.
• Bonus: experience in vocational counselling or employment services.

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective time management and organisational ability.
• Confidence to work independently and within a collaborative team.
• Competence with case management software and general IT tools.
