Workcover Payroll Specialist (SAP) – Melbourne

About the role

A Victorian government agency based in the Melbourne CBD is looking for a Workcover Payroll Specialist to join its team on a 3-month contract with possible extensions. The position is advertised by Randstad and pays $59.50 per hour plus super, with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of Victorian Workers' Compensation legislation, FRV Enterprise Agreements and insurer-agreed practices governing WorkCover entitlements.
• Calculate and process weekly and fortnightly compensation payments according to strict payroll schedules, using the Management System and working with claims managers and Return to Work Coordinators.
• Provide clear, responsive customer support to payment recipients and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Uphold data privacy and confidentiality standards for internal communications and the release of sensitive records.
• Contribute to reviewing and improving WorkCover payroll workflows and take part in relevant training.
• Generate WorkCover reporting, statistics and reconciliations, including monthly Current Weekly Earnings, to support workplace health and safety account tracking and insurer reimbursements.
• Enter leave, scheduled hours and wages accurately to determine and apply Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings and Current Weekly Earnings.

Required profile

• Previous experience in payroll and/or WorkCover, including calculating and paying Workers Compensation in Victoria.
• Proven SAP and/or Pay Global experience (essential).
