WHSEQ Advisor

About the role

McMahon Services is growing its WHSEQ team and is looking for a motivated WHSEQ Advisor to join in Adelaide, South Australia. The role is hands-on, working closely with operational teams, project managers and the wider WHSEQ function to implement WHSEQ requirements and support compliance with the Business Management Systems and the Safety Certainty 2.0 Program. It is based in Adelaide but requires occasional travel to regional project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support project teams with the implementation of the Safety Certainty 2.0 Program and give practical advice, guidance and mentoring to operational teams.
• Use SIFER tools, conduct site observations and assessments, and assist with risk assessments, SWMS and JSEAs.
• Attend pre-starts and toolbox meetings, monitor induction and training compliance, and support subcontractor onboarding.
• Help with incident investigations, audits and WHSEQ Management Plans.
• Travel to regional South Australian projects when needed to provide on-site support.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
• Previous WHSEQ experience in construction or a similar operational environment.
• Construction Industry White Card and current driver's licence.
• First Aid qualification.
• Flexibility to travel to regional project sites.

Required skills

• Good understanding of WHSEQ principles, risk management and construction site operations.
• Competent Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisation and time management, able to work independently within a team.
