Wet Fire Project Manager

About the role

A recruitment consultant is advertising a Project Manager position in wet fire protection, described as a market leader in the construction industry for 40 years. The role plans, organises and controls the cost, programme and technical aspects of projects, leading the project team on financial, programme and safety matters to deliver projects within budget and maximise profit. It involves working with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and wider project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tasks in line with project requirements and manage scope changes
• Engage key subcontractors and coordinate the project delivery programme
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and project budgets, and reconcile project invoices to the budget
• Manage labour requirements together with the Labour Manager
• Report project status, attend client meetings and liaise with clients
• Document and administer projects through to closure
• Support business development processes

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or equivalent preferred
• At least 5 years' experience in project management in a commercial construction environment
• Experience coordinating contractors and trades
• Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders, and to work under pressure and solve problems on the spot

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam, including drafting construction programmes
• Strong written and verbal communication and good leadership skills
