Water Resources Engineer – Brisbane

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join its Brisbane Water Team. You will work within a highly skilled group of water specialists, contributing to a variety of hydraulic and flood‑plain management projects for infrastructure, energy and water markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run two‑dimensional hydraulic models, preferably using TUFLOW.
• Support drainage, catchment management, dam, water‑balance and industrial water projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable water‑resource solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in 2D hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW preferred).
• Strong understanding of Australian rainfall‑runoff relationships.
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Familiarity with hydrologic modelling tools such as RORB and URBS (preferred).
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
