Building Surveyor – Brisbane

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our Brisbane team. The role involves working on high‑profile projects such as Defence facilities, healthcare infrastructure and Olympic developments, ensuring compliance with the Building Act, Regulations and the Building Code of Australia. You will support senior surveyors and managers in delivering client and project needs efficiently and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Assess project documentation and liaise with clients, providing recommendations for compliance with the Building Act, Regulations and the Building Code of Australia.
• Advise on modifications or performance solutions where compliance is not possible, investigating alternative avenues for resolution.
• Prepare technical reports outlining compliance requirements and recommendations.
• Manage documentation and job files to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Communicate with authorities and councils, handling requests for information professionally and promptly.
• Assist the Business Unit team with day‑to‑day project management and assessments.
• Ensure invoicing targets are met and reporting functions align with office systems.
• Support QHSE management systems, including quality control, safety and auditing procedures.

Required profile

• Professional communication skills with clients, colleagues and consultants.
• Successful completion or undertaking of a relevant university degree (local or internationally recognised).
• Previous certification experience in a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to check documentation accurately and on time.
• Team player with initiative to improve processes and procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining CPD requirements in line with state and national accreditation bodies.
