Waste Compliance Officer

About the role

Randstad has partnered with a global leader in ecological transformation and sustainable resource management to recruit a Waste Compliance Officer. This is a 6-month contract based in Chullora, New South Wales, supporting local waste auditing and contamination management initiatives. You will work on the frontline to improve community recycling standards and protect resource streams across residential and commercial collection routes.

Key responsibilities

• Walk designated collection routes and visually inspect kerbside bins for contaminated or non-compliant materials before they are emptied.
• Apply official non-collection or educational stickers to contaminated bins.
• Safely move non-compliant bins off the kerb so trucks do not load contaminated waste into recycling streams.
• Capture clear photos of contaminated bin contents with a mobile device or tablet and record the location and issue details.
• Follow company Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols when working near active roadways and equipment.

Required profile

• Able to walk long distances outdoors, bend and lift bin lids in varying weather.
• Able to quickly tell apart recyclable from non-recyclable materials such as soft plastics, general waste and construction debris.
• Comfortable using mobile apps or tablets to take photos and log operations.
• Available early in the morning and able to follow designated routes consistently.
• Valid driver's licence; a clean driving history is preferred.
