Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

A major Australian food manufacturer, part of a global food group, is recruiting a Warehouse Supervisor for its Yatala site, which runs round the clock from Sunday night to Friday with no weekend work. You will work the day shift, 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, as second-in-command to the Warehouse Manager. About 80% of your day is on the floor and 20% in the office, where the manager teaches you the admin and systems side of running the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of up to five across receivables, dispatch, stock control and forklift operations
• Support, train and develop the warehouse team day to day
• Oversee inbound receivables and outbound dispatch of finished goods
• Keep stock records accurate, with every movement scanned by RF and recorded in Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Carry out cycle counts and monthly stocktakes, and investigate stock variances
• Maintain stock rotation across finished goods, ingredients and packaging
• Ensure the team and transport providers follow safety, GMP and HACCP requirements
• Operate a forklift alongside the team and act as backup for the Warehouse Manager when they are away
• Build skills in warehouse administration and systems with support from the Warehouse Manager

Required profile

• Strong warehouse experience and a current LF forklift licence
• Has led a team before, or is a senior storeperson ready for their first supervisor role
• Keen to learn the admin and systems side of the warehouse alongside the floor work
• No food manufacturing background needed; GMP and food safety training is part of onboarding

Required skills

• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365, or strong computer skills and quick learning of new systems
• LF forklift licence
