Wagon Maintainer II (Fitter)

About the role

Aurizon’s custom‑built wagon overhaul facility seeks a qualified Fitter to join a small team on an attractive day‑shift roster, overhauling the wagon fleet in Sarina. The role offers a safe, productive environment with the chance to be home each night.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute actively to Aurizon’s safety culture.
• Perform work in line with technical and operational specifications.
• Maintain records and documentation on asset condition, maintenance programs and costing.
• Report actual work against the scheduled program and flag equipment irregularities.
• Support continuous quality improvement through work‑practice implementation.
• Maintain, service, repair and modify infrastructure machinery to maximise availability.
• Communicate maintenance requirements and collaborate with the team.

Required profile

• Energetic, safety‑focused and eager to excel.
• Experience working in a team environment and fostering a positive workplace.
• Qualified Fitter with strong technical competence.
• Committed to a safe and respectful workplace.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
