Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Port Adelaide

About the role

Join Aurizon’s safety‑focused team in Port Adelaide, maintaining and repairing mobile plant assets that keep critical port operations running smoothly. You will work within a structured maintenance program, handling both scheduled and unscheduled tasks while upholding strong safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on port mobile plant and infrastructure.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including auto‑electrical systems.
• Complete risk assessments and follow WH&S procedures.
• Scope maintenance work, collaborate with planners, and prioritize tasks.
• Provide on‑call support for urgent breakdowns and maintain accurate records in asset management systems.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent (mandatory).
• Proven mechanical trade experience, preferably in heavy diesel servicing.
• Ability to obtain a Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC) and hold a current C Class driver’s licence.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with WH&S standards.

Required skills

• Auto‑electrical diagnostic skills.
• Experience with SAP or similar asset management systems.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
