Graduate Mechanical Engineer – 3‑Year Graduate Program

About the role

Join Aurizon’s 3‑year Graduate Program as a Mechanical Engineer and gain hands‑on experience across our rail freight business. You will rotate through regional assignments, work with senior rolling‑stock engineers and reliability specialists, and contribute to meaningful projects that shape the future of rail.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a 12‑month regional rotation, working across diverse areas of the Asset Management & Strategy team.
• Collaborate with senior rolling‑stock engineers, reliability specialists and maintenance teams on projects and operational improvements.
• Engage in graduate challenges, presenting innovative solutions within multi‑disciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Completed an undergraduate degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering by December 2026.
• Strong ambition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion to succeed.
• Willingness to work in regional communities where Aurizon operates.
