VR General Practitioner – Urgent Care and General Practice

About the role

Partnered Health is seeking VR General Practitioners to join its new Cairns North Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Smithfield, part of the Cairns and Hinterland region. The clinic sits in a large, purpose-built medical hub that offers urgent care alongside an established general practice. Ongoing rostered shifts and casual ad hoc shifts are available.

A separate Clinical Lead position is also open for an experienced VR GP with strong urgent care or emergency experience; leadership experience is desirable but not essential, and the role can run alongside clinical shifts.

Required profile

• Fellowship with RACGP (FRACGP/FARGP) or ACRRM (FACRRM)
• Unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Current ALS certification
• Interest in urgent care, with the option to maintain or grow a GP caseload

Required skills

• Confidence in suturing and plastering
• For the Clinical Lead: interest in clinical leadership, governance, mentorship of the urgent care team and development of clinical standards and workflows
