Volunteer Social Media Manager

About the role

Manly Theatre Group is looking for a creative volunteer to manage its social media channels and help bring its productions to life online. You will support the promotion of shows, auditions and community events while gaining practical experience in arts marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Create and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
• Capture and share behind‑the‑scenes moments such as rehearsals, cast interactions and production build.
• Promote upcoming performances, auditions and special events.
• Develop engaging posts and short‑form videos to tell the story of each production.
• Grow audience reach and improve engagement across all channels.
• Collaborate with directors, cast members and committee volunteers.
• Support ticket sales through creative online promotion.

Required profile

• Passionate about theatre, storytelling or the arts.
• Active on social media and understands what drives engagement.
• Comfortable creating content using a smartphone (photos, reels, stories).
• Organised and able to manage a simple content calendar.
• Reliable and able to commit time consistently across a show cycle.
• Positive, collaborative team player.
