Visiting Medical Officer – Urology

About the role

This position offers an experienced urology consultant or a soon‑to‑be Fellow the chance to join a growing regional centre, delivering high‑quality public and private urology services across Manning Base Hospital and Mayo Private Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand your surgical practice, including laser stone surgery.
• Reduce public waiting lists and improve patient access to specialist care.
• Shape the future of regional urology services through service development and collaboration with John Hunter Hospital.
• Manage complex cases with referral pathways to tertiary centres when required.
• Participate in a balanced on‑call roster and support multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Qualified medical practitioner with experience in urology, ready for a consultant role or completing fellowship.
• Willingness to relocate to the Lower Mid North Coast and engage with the local community.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality clinical care in a regional setting.

Required skills

• Urological surgical expertise, including laser technology for stone surgery.
• Proficiency in managing referral pathways to tertiary hospitals.
