Virtual Learning Teacher (Year 9/10 & VPC)

About the role

Community College Gippsland is recruiting two teachers to deliver its new virtual learning program from the Dandenong Campus. Students attend classes remotely from home while teachers work from the campus learning centre, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The positions cover Year 9/10 and VPC (Victorian Primary Certificate) teaching, with a 2027 start and an application deadline of 17 November.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging Year 9/10 and VPC learning and assessment materials in line with VCAA requirements.
• Support student growth through individual learning plans and student support plans, and take part in student care meetings.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed environment, and provide educational and wellbeing support.
• Work with families and support teams, and contribute to camps, excursions and school activities.
• Maintain high-quality records, take part in moderation, and report on student achievement regularly.
• Take part in professional learning, school meetings and student/parent interviews at least twice a year.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification.
• VIT teacher registration or permission to teach.
• Current driver's licence.
• Experience differentiating and individualising learning plans, and familiarity with trauma-informed practice.

Required skills

• Confidence using technology to deliver engaging online learning.
• Ability to integrate curriculum with hands-on, project-based approaches.
