VFLW Head Doctor (Part‑time)

About the role

The Melbourne Football Club is seeking a qualified medical professional to lead medical services for its VFLW program. This part‑time position starts in July 2026 and runs for the remainder of the season, providing essential health support to Casey Demons VFLW players.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality medical care, including injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
• Oversee medical service delivery in collaboration with other health staff.
• Develop and implement injury‑prevention strategies aligned with coaching plans.
• Advise coaching and high‑performance staff on injury management and return‑to‑play protocols.
• Implement and monitor the VFLW concussion management protocol.
• Maintain up‑to‑date medical records in line with AFL and club policies.

Required profile

• AHPRA‑registered medical practitioner with experience supporting elite athletes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sports‑related injuries and player welfare.
• Strong knowledge of sports‑medicine best practices and concussion management.
