Venue General Manager – Food & Beverage

About the role

We are seeking a senior Venue General Manager to lead the Food & Beverage operation at The Langham Sydney. Reporting to the SRG Director of Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for all F&B outlets – The James restaurant, in‑room dining, event and conference catering, and the hotel breakfast service.

Key responsibilities

• Full P&L ownership for each outlet, driving revenue and cost control.
• Lead a multi‑outlet team across restaurant floor, banqueting, events and room service.
• Ensure a premium guest experience from intimate fine‑dining moments to large conference lunches.
• Recruit, develop and manage the leadership team and broader F&B staff.
• Collaborate daily with The Langham hotel management to align F&B delivery with overall hotel standards.
• Prepare commercial and operational reports for the SRG Director of F&B.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, workplace health & safety and liquor licensing requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience running complex, high‑volume F&B operations in Sydney, either as a Venue/Restaurant General Manager or as a senior hotel F&B leader.
• Demonstrated commercial rigour with full P&L accountability.
• Ability to manage diverse service styles – fine dining, events, in‑room dining and breakfast – without compromising standards.
• Strong stakeholder management, comfortable presenting to senior directors and partnering with hotel leadership.
• Guest‑first mindset and composure to operate in a luxury hotel environment.
