VCE Chemistry Teacher

About the role

Haileybury is seeking a qualified and experienced VCE Chemistry Teacher to join its Senior School team at the Brighton campus. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting on Monday 16 November 2026 or in January 2027, in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the curriculum using best-practice pedagogy, including the Haileybury Explicit Instruction model, and keep up to date with contemporary teaching practices.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff and the school community.
• Use a range of assessment methods to support student success and measure achievement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources, assessments and learning opportunities, and engage in best practice across campuses.
• Integrate digital learning and the LMS into classroom practice and participate in professional development.
• Contribute to co-curricular activities such as sport, the Arts and outdoor activities, and maintain attendance records.
• Administer formative and summative assessments, give feedback, write reports in line with school policy, attend meetings as required, undertake supervisory duties and take part in parent/teacher interviews.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualifications.
• VIT registration or ability to obtain it; applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
• Ability to respond to differing learning needs and strengths.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and effective time management.

Required skills

• Strong skillset with technology.
• Ability to integrate digital learning and the LMS into teaching.
