VCE Algorithmics & Specialist Maths Teacher

About the role

The Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join its VCE Algorithmics and Specialist Mathematics teams. The role involves delivering high‑quality VCE subjects to high‑ability students both on‑site and online, with a hybrid (hy‑flex) approach.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach VCE Algorithmics and Specialist Mathematics to part‑time students while supporting their base schools.
• Contribute to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation within the school.
• Mentor and coach other teachers, model exemplary classroom practice and support staff in using student data to improve outcomes.
• Supervise and train student teachers and, from 2027, deliver mathematics masterclasses for Year 7‑8 students.

Required profile

• Demonstrated content knowledge in Algorithmics and/or Specialist Mathematics.
• Willingness to develop expertise in both subjects and engage in professional learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid teaching environment.

Required skills

• Strong pedagogical practice to meet diverse student needs.
• Experience with hybrid (on‑site and online) instruction.
