Utility Service Technician – Calala, Tamworth

About the role

Tesla is looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to maintain and service utility‑scale battery sites, primarily the Tesla Megapack, in the Calala/Tamworth region. You will join a close‑knit on‑site team responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting and upgrades of medium‑ to high‑voltage equipment across Powerpack and Megapack installations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex electro‑mechanical debugging, rework and repairs on medium and high voltage battery storage equipment.
• Service, troubleshoot and upgrade utility‑scale battery sites to ensure optimal performance.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and LV/MV/HV testing equipment for diagnosis.
• Document daily work updates, issues identified and future timelines for the service organization.
• Provide support to other regional or international sites as required.

Required profile

• Certified Electrician (Cert III or higher) with a current electrical licence.
• Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 3 years in electrical maintenance within the utility sector.
• Experience with HV switching and SCADA operation preferred.
• Ability to interpret detailed documentation, electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work outdoors and on‑call.
